Oohhh Looky!

I walked into my favorite used bookstore here in Asheville (shout out to Mr. K’s!) last night and what do I see? Only a $12 hardback copy of this beauty:

I have longingly stroked many a Nigella Lawson cookbook. (I’m betting a lot of dudes have too – she is a looker.) But her pretty hardback books, stocked with drool worthy recipes are typically beyond what I’m willing to spend for a cookbook.  At $12 though, this lovely practically begged to go home with me! I only felt a *tish* guilty, because I may or may not have a cookbook “habit.”

The scary thing? That’s probably about a third of them. Yeah…it’s a habit alright.

So what should I make first? African drumsticks or the mixed meat pilaf? Or perhaps the salmon with cherry tomato couscous?

(Psst! I’d link  you some recipe linkedy-links, but I can’t find any online 😦 Sorry hungry reader!)

Decisions, decisions.

No matter what, I’ll report back with my findings.

That’s a girl scout promise.

Not that I was ever a girl scout.

Just felt you should know.

But I hear they’re a trustworthy gang. And they sell some viciously delicious cookies. That’s gotta count for something right?

So yeah.

I don’t even know how to tie that all together.

Peace out yall.

Oh Nigella…talk about some warm bosoms! She’s so…Nigella. I love her. And yay for a curvy woman who’s not afraid of calories.

I feel you on the cookbook love. I scored The Silver Platter Cookbook at a thrift store this week for SIXTY CENTS. I felt like a such a victor. Nevermind that my collection has spilled out of the bookcase and onto the floor, slightly blocking the bathroom door. Whatevs.
And I spot some Moosewood cookbooks up in that picture! Love those!

  2. I love Nigella! Her show is so fun. I’m willing to try any of those recipes this weekend 🙂

  3. @Erin – ha! She is definitely rocking the warm bosoms 😉 I love me some Nigella too. I think what I love most is her writing – it’s such good writing! Her cookbooks read like literature. Jealous of your major cookbook score! Wow, makes me feel like my $12 bargain was highway robbery!
And girl, you know Moosewood deserves a spot on every cookbook shelf!

@Brittany – you’ll probably get to be a recipe guinea pig of some sort this weekend 🙂
