…to tell you about our new pretty picture at the top of our lovable blog. Somanna snapped this photo in the wee hours of the morning while we were on safari at Kabini River Lodge. The men (fishermen, most likely) are paddling a small, circular boat called a coracle.
This is one of my favorite photos of Somanna’s of all time. I find it very haunting. India has such an Energy. The hustle and bustle demand your participation, the sights, sounds and smells grip your senses relentlessly, the bumpy roads jolt you awake. You feel Alive here. Life and Death are very real and more in your face. The challenges faced by the masses are a far cry from those of suburbia. You can taste survival in the air, see it on the streets. It really is quite thrilling. But this picture captures a quieter, more direct moment. When the sun rises over India and She wakes up, rolls over, looks you in the eye and asks if you are ready.
Are you ready for another day in Incredible India?
